While travelling, before going to sleep, in the lazy afternoons or when I just want to- I have book in my hands. Some time ago I felt in love with Emily Giffin's books and with each title, my love only became deeper... the book I just finished is The one and only that right now my best friend took on her honeymoon:
I gotta say that the beginning didn't amaze me, but I decided to finish it anyway. It took me about 70 pages to think "Ok, so she's got my heart again." I remember well my mom getting mad cause I didn't want to join her at the dinner :D And I was mad too since she was not able to understand that it was more important for me to feed my brain instead of stomach... yes, it was! :-)
Emily Giffin is able to wake up my hiden emotions not just with writing interesting story but with the language she uses to tell it. The simplest words I can use to describe her style are: touching, heartwarming and romantic but at same time, luckily, the author knows how to avoid making them too sweet and predictable. The one and only is fantastic confirmation of Giffin's talent.
So what was I thinking when it came to finish the book? "What do I do with my life now?!" :-) but then... great news! New book! First comes love is all I think about now while awaiting the postman that will bring me my new little love :-) but until then... let's read The one and only one more time!
